Salento / Zona Cafetera 2.0

So we can finally tell you guys what our last 3 weeks here in Salento looked like. We left Mozart in a workshop near Salento, where Diego, our new favourite mechanic is taking a deeper look into him. And he found loads, so we decided to do a full renovation. Well this takes its time, but as mentioned above, we are here in one of the most beautiful regions of Colombia.

While Diego is building us a new structure for the casita, we are enjoying the wonderful things Salento has to offer.

From our Finca we had the most stunning view over Salento and it's a wonderful place to relax. But of course the town is near and there we spend most our days strolling through the city, eating delicious food everyday and on our way back home we stopped almost every night at our favourite cafe, Kafe del Alma. By far the nicest cafe in town with the best staff, which we call now our friends.

And thanks to Tobi and Carina, good friends from home, who did a similar trip around South America we got to visit a friend of them who lives near Salento, Jorge Andres. We had a great time with him and he showed us more spectacular places and took us for a nice hike. He recently opened a restaurant, where we were welcomed nicely.

Also our super nice host of Finca Cardonales, Paola, took great care of us. Even welcoming us to a visit to Armenia and spending a wonderful lunch with her family. We also took a tour in her own handcraft chocolate production, Terra Dulce. Everybody who knows me, Anna-Maria, knows how much I'm in love with chocolate. So that was extra special.

But of course we also did some of the tourist tours Salento has to offer. We visited La Carbonara valley with its impressive population of Wax Palms and spectacular views from 3000m. Took a ride in a Willy, to Cocora Valley. And enjoyed a tour to a coffefarm.

So we could not complain about being stuck here, we had a wonderful time and are sad to say goodbye.

But as Diego needs more time with Mozart, we decided to leave Salento for now and head to Medellin for some days.
